MBABANE– The Royal Eswatini Police Service has come out to thank emaSwati for a violent free weekend.
During a live interview on Eswatini Broadcasting Services (EBIS) Chief Police Communications Officer, Superintendent Phindile Vilakati said there was less violence this weekend.
She mentioned that despite arrests that were made and an accident that claimed a 15-year-old’s life things were not that violent in the country.
“We are happy as a police force that we did not witness violence this weekend. Yes there were a few incidents and arrests made but it was not like in previous times that we have seen,” she said.
In addition to that, she said heartfelt gratitude was being extended by them to every LiSwati that acted right over the weekend and did not take law into their own hands.
“This shows us that we can do better as people, if the Nation were to maintain this kind of behaviour we would soon achieve a crime free country,” said the Police mouth piece.
Meanwhile, Police Service also thanked the public for their continued support, since the Toyota Etios which was reported stolen has been recovered. “We would also like to thank the public for helping us recover stolen cars and find missing persons, we have managed to find three missing persons and two hijacked cars were found. We do not take this lightly and we could have not done it without the public’s help,” said Vilakati.
