MBABANE- With only a few days to go until the new year, what better way than to wind down the year with our local entertainers? They shared with this publication where they will be doing their countdown.
They also shared their New Year’s resolutions and what they were hoping for in the new year. Eswatini Positive News caught up with some industry key players, and this is what they had to say.
NDUNDUZO MATSE 2024 is another year to dream and focus. It is another year to pray diligently, work hard, and be smart. If you didn’t achieve it in 2023, thank God you are still alive. Time and chance await you in 2024. Arise and pursue your dreams. Happy New Year! Let us meet on April 27! Mother of all Gospel Shows.
JUMBO KHUMALO My resolution for 2024 is that, with the Jumbo Festival, either I am going big or going home. More companies have agreed to partner with us. I might get married as well in 2024 I will be in church on the 31st evening at Lobamba Christian Revival Centre.
BHELEKAZI SHABANGU As we begin this New Year, always remember that you have been given another chance to be you and be happy at it. Do more of you and find peace in being just you! God loves you, and I wish you a prosperous 2024 and a year full of blessings. I will be doing my countdown at the Kingdom Embassy Ngwane Park, where we’ll be hosting our annual end-of-year conference, thanking the Lord for keeping us thus far and praying that He continues to see us through this coming year.
CULOLAMI DLAMIN (FESTIVAL DIRECTOR OF FARMERS MARKERT) Life is too short; don’t limit yourself in the upcoming year; go the extra mile; if one door closes, go and knock on the other one; if a career ends, build a new one; never stop believing in yourself. I will be doing the countdown at Sibebe Resort; it’ll be my first time doing a countdown at the biggest and fastest-growing resort in the country.
SIHLE GUMBI PRESIDENT OF ESWATINI NATIONAL CHORAL MUSIC ASSOCIATION My resolution for 2024 is to change the choral industry from being just choirs to businesses where some choristers will be employed by choirs. In the countdown to the New Year, I’ll be somewhere in South Africa with family; unfortunately, I can’t say the exact place.
TAMMY DLAMINI FESTIVAL DIRECTOR OF EPIC GIG My new-year resolutions are to be a better version of myself every day. To give each day my all. To have more faith in my God and leave everything to Him. To achieve all the impossible goals and prove to all the young black kids that it’s possible. To love more, smile more, and be more grateful.
PHETSILE MASILELA My resolution for 2024 is to stay true to myself and God. I am looking forward to a beautiful and fruitful year, by God’s grace. I will cross over to Mbabane Alliance Church since I will be ministering there until midnight. I just want to say thank you to all who have prayed for and supported me during the year. May God bless you and keep you all for His own glory. I am grateful for all those who have embraced the song Umus’ongaka. It’s such a humbling experience to receive so much love.
DJ LADY CREAM 2023 has been a very rough year for me. I fell for a scam by one local DJ who approached me for a show and never paid the artists. and my life just got messed up. I lost everything I have worked so hard for! I wish to expose him so he does not do it to other people but works on it. My New Year resolutions would be to change my lifestyle, spend more time with my kids, trust people less, spend most of my time with God, and help people psychologically. For the past three years, I have been doing the countdown in the church at JC Matsapha. This year, I will be in Matsapha at the Gallery Hotel Crossover with DJs Xtra Luv, Ling Ling, Shibz, and Minny Tee.
LINDA DLAMINI I would like to wish all my music lovers, supporters, and the entire Swati population a happy New Year and a prosperous one. My message to everyone is that it’s not over until God says it’s over. I encourage people to cross over in prayer, requesting God for a good year.
NHLONIPHO DLAMINI One of my primary goals in 2024 is to do more performances in Eswatini and connect with the people who have shown so much love and support for my music throughout my journey. By performing in my home country, I hope to inspire and uplift others, especially upcoming artists and producers. I’m in the country this 31st; I decided to do my crossover here at home. To all young upcoming artists and producers, don’t stop making music; networking is key; and be patient while working hard.
DJ MISTO 2023 has been an amazing year for me in as much as its lows too. All in all, I want to thank God for guiding and protecting me through the year, and I look forward to an even better year in 2024. I would also love to share a word with everyone who didn’t have it easy over the years: Dream it, believe it, do it; you surely are going to achieve it, and never stop praying. He listens, and he provides. I wish everyone a very successful year ahead, full of love and blessings and no drama at all. Do join me as I crossover to 2024 at IF’s Lounge with amazingly talented Swati DJs and artists and our international German DJ, Ralf Gum. It will be fun and fireworks through the night.
OTTOMM SALLY I’ll be doing my countdown either at home or church. I always make sure I don’t get booked on that date. I respect it, and I always want to start my year with prayer and in a safe environment. So my short message is that people should make sure they’re safe, and I urge everyone to make a sensible decision for the upcoming year and stick to it. The things that you did in 2023 that you’re not proud of, make sure you don’t go back to them. Let’s all make good plans for 2024. Much love.
MBALI SIMELANE, DIRECTOR OF TOP MODELS I’ll cross over to 2024 at Mankayane for an all-night prayer at my church, Kingdom Life Revealed Ministries International, with my parents, Apostle Lucky and Prophetess Sebentile Dlamini, as always. It is my home forever and always.
MAJAHA THE POET It has been an eventful year that has stretched us in different directions. We thank God for his mercies throughout the year. We continue to spread the message of “planting words like seeds into the soul and hoping to grow such with echoes that ring inside of those who hear our message even when we are silent.” We continue to believe in words. Poetry is what keeps us going, even when we are seemingly tired. We look forward to 2024 with great anticipation, and we aspire to share more poetry. May our poetry words heal, inspire, and touch the lives of those who have an encounter with them. May God bless each and every one, and we look forward to sharing the word on more stages in 2024. In words, we believe.
NOSISEKELO KIPI HLATSHWAYO (MODEL AND FASHION DESIGNER) I’ll be doing the countdown in church, giving thanks to the Lord for all the things he has done for me this year, and praying that 2024 can be the happiest year of my life.
LARRY MHLANGA I am making 2024 the year of self-improvement and growth, so I won’t be amazed at what I will achieve in 2024. It’s easy to get caught up in negativity, but remember that a positive attitude can take you far. In 2023, I chose to be positive and optimistic, even when things were tough. Focus on the good and the things you can control, and let go of the things you can’t. Positivity will bring me more happiness and open up more opportunities.
