MBABANE– “2023 will bring growth and prosperity for the country”.

These words were shared by Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs Moses Vilakati yesterday during the Incwala Main Day Ceremony at Ludzidzini Royal Residence.

Vilakati mentioned that the year 2023 promised to be a good year within the tourism industry.

“A lot of tourists have come into Eswatini in their numbers for the Incwala Ceremony. 2023 will bring growth and prosperity for the country.

“Our vegetation and landscape has revealed the inner beauty of our country. This has generated interest in foreigners who have come forth with different proposals for making films and documentaries about our beautiful vegetation and hills,” said Vilakati.

The minister further mentioned they noticed that since Christmas Day, a lot of places within Eswatini were fully booked.

“Last year we were grateful for all emaSwati who toured domestically during the festive season. This is because we had been promoting touring domestically as part of our tourism campaign last year. This has led to the growth of the tourism sector.

“This is one step forward. A lot of businesses have gained economic activity through tourism in the country, which is why we are seeing more hotels and more small BnBs being built. “We will be launching new establishments from February. When we come to the Incwala Ceremony, we are here to give thanks and praises to God for journeying with us the whole year and give thanks to a new one,” said Vilakati.
