THEIR MAJESTIES BESTOW LUTSANGO WITH GIFTS

MBABANE– Members of the Lutsango regiment are happy with Their Majesties, as they have received gifts coming from them.

According to information sourced from the Facebook page of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Lutsango members have received a variety of gifts from the country’s authorities.

“Their Majesties bestowed Lutsango regiments with a variety of traditional gifts at the Buhleni royal residence today. Among the offerings were items such as lihiya, marula soap, and oil, cherished for their symbolic significance in Eswatini culture,” said part of the Ministry’s statement.

The ceremony, rich in eswatini customs and heritage, resounded with joyous cries of “Bayethe wena waphakathi!!” as Libutfo enthusiastically hailed the monarchs, according to the Ministry.

Yesterday evening, Minister for Home Affairs Princess Lindiwe led a team of officials from the Ministry to present gifts to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is not the only one that has gone to present gifts to Her Majesty. Lutsango members from different other Government ministries, departments and parastatals were seen delivering different gifts to Her Majesty. Buganu Ceremony is one of the main events that are celebrated by Emaswati every year.

The event is usually celebrated two times in one year. It is celebrated for the first time in Buhleni Royal Residence under Mayiwane Constituency in the Hhohho Region. It is celebrated around February.

The second event takes place in Hlane Royal Residence under Dvokodvweni Constituency in the Lubombo Region. It is usually celebrated around March.

This event is aimed at showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Kingdom and celebrating the existence of the fruits known as Emaganu, which are used to produce the traditional drink known as Buganu.

Over the years, the event has attracted interest from scores of people from inside and outside the country, who usually go and celebrate this event with Their Majesties. Well-known celebrities from in and out of the country have also been part of the event.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has organised the event. It is one of the mandates of this Ministry to organise national celebrations.
