MANZINI – The Eswatini International Trade Fair is officially back!
After a COVID-19 hiatus, the Eswatini International Trade Fair was officially relaunched today, with His Majesty King Mswati III set to officially open the fair later today, under the theme “Endless Possibilities”.
Speaking about the Trade Fair, Minister of Commerce Mancoba Khumalo expressed excitement on the return of the fair, and the value it brings for Emaswati.
“Today we are very happy, since we last had the Trade Fair in 2019, and this year it is back!. Emaswati were very eager for the Trade Fair because it is one of the major events in the country, which helps Emaswati exhibit what they do,” said the Minister.
“The Trade Fair is very important because it gives people the opportunity to show the public their work, as well as show the King’s foreign guests what is available in the country,” added the Minister.
“Secondly, business people are able to get new ideas from others. There are often visiting exhibitors and some bring new innovations which inspire businesspeople to expand their businesses,
“Thirdly, there is a lot of trade which happens here. Entrepreneurs get to sell their products and services to a large population, some of which might have not known about the business if not for the Trade Fair,” said Minister Khumalo.
He also added that there will be a business seminar this year, which will primarily focus on MSME’s and how they can increase their participation in the economy.
The 2023 Trade Fair is currently being officially launched at the Mavuso Trade Centre, with His Majesty King Mswati III expected to give the opening remarks soon.

“We are excited to have the Trade Fair again this year. The theme is ‘Endless Possibilities’, and we once again have the opportunity for companies and small businesses to convene. He highlighted that there are all kinds of orgnisations, from big businesses, government departments, to small businesses inside and outside the Trade Fair grounds.
“A lot of business is being done here at the Trade Fair. When we say ‘Endless Possibilities’, we are trying to highlight that whether you are a small business or wish to start one, you should come and mingle with people who think like you to share ideas,” urged Mngomezulu.
“We know that the Trade Fair is a platform to help businesses grow. We have seen businesses thrive because of the Trade Fair, both the exhibitors, as well as the ones taking the opportunity to trade outside the grounds,” said Mngomezulu.
Mngomezulu also noted that they were happy as the EIPA that their efforts to promote investing in Eswatini were highly accelerated by the Trade Fair. He revealed that over 300 organisations are exhibiting in this year’s Trade Fair, adding that they were actually oversubscribed and had to turn businesses down.
