TIGHT SECURITY AT INCWALA MAIN DAY

MBABANE– EmaSwati experienced first class security during the Incwala main day which took place yesterday at Ludzidzini Royal Residence.

This was seen from the main entrance of the Royal Residence to the Cattle Byre, deployed police officers and soldiers kept guard at all times and helped those who were not able to find their way around the residence.

Royal Eswatini Police Services (REPS) and Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (UEDF) were among the many forces deployed to protect and guard the over 50 000 emaSwati who had come to join the King in song and dance.

Seen during the event which was peaceful from start to finish were also the fire services department and emergency personnel among others.

The event was also made colourful by over 10 stalls that were spotted in the arena, this included Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA), vendors, Eswatini Mobile and Sigeja Couriers.

Security forces comprising of males and females helped attendees comply with the regulations and rules of Incwala before entering the cattle byre. The patient and willing forces helped people understand certain traditions when going into the cattle byre for the main dance.

“We are stationed at the main gate before the cattle byre; our duty is to help the females going in with their jewellery, shades and cell phones as they are not allowed inside the dancing area,” said one UEDF member.

This was also the case with traffic police officers stationed at in the streets on the way leading up to Ludzidzini Royal Residence.
