MBABANE – A dual handover, worth E2.5 million, for a procured tractor loader backhoe (TLB) for Sambusi Investments and a tractor with farm implements for Msutfu Farmers Investments took place yesterday (Wednesday, May 29, 2024) at the Lubuli Constituency (Inkhundla).
The event was graced by Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, who officiated the handover to the farmers. Dlamini said he was pleased to be part of an income generating project within the Kingdom of Eswatini.
“Sambusi Investment and Msutfu Farmers Investment have each guaranteed that at least one person will be employed for each of the groups. The employment of at least one person and more than ten members for each of the benefitting groups has long lasting effects on poverty alleviation on the employees and their depedendants,” Dlamini said.
Government, through the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development, funded these equipment which both costs over E2.5 million. Government contributed E1 618 666.95 towards the procurement of the TLB for Sambusi Farmers and E895 507.54 for the tractor.
Sambusi Investment consists of ten members, while Msutfu Farmers has membership of 26 individuals. Sambusi Investments contributed E176 323.67, while Msutfu Farmers Investments contributed E357 100 towards the purchase of the machinery.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chairman of Sambusi Investment, Mbuso Ndzimandze encouraged other people to come together in starting projects that will help alleviate poverty and reduce unemployment.
“We want to thank the Inkhundla for assisting us and we can vouch for the work that the Government is doing through the Tinkhundla system. We also want to thank our Member of Parliament (MP Dr Tambo Gina), for helping us in ensuring that our request is successful,” they said.
