The minister, who is also Ntontozi Member of Parliament, said he wanted to make sure he plays part in domestic travel and that there was nothing much to see in other countries because Eswatini was almost at par with other countries.

“I will be taking my family to some of the local places we have in the country and we look forward to discovering new places, visiting favourite ones. We will use these holidays to make sure we do not miss a spot in the country,” said Vilakati.

Vilakati also encouraged families to try out local spots for their festive holidays; he went on to say that some of them had running specials for the whole of December holidays.

“There are specials everywhere and checking them out would certainly be worth it because this makes exploring the country worthwhile,” he said.

Random members of the public when interviewed about where they would be spending their Christmas most of them mentioned outings and gatherings in different countries, while others said their preferred destination was church.

“I will be taking my family to a newly opened spot in Mbadlane for the day we will have lunch there and have a good time,” said Muzi Mamba from Mbabane.

Another said for their family this year, they will take time to fully explore Wendy’s Lodge and further spend a weekend there because they have a number of activities. “Wendy’s lodge is the place to be this year, we are so happy to have booked on time because it gets busy. It will be our first time at that place and we look forward to having the time of our lives,” said Melisizwe Mabuza from Manzini.
