MBABANE – Eswatini is about to get a royal treatment as Tourism South Africa embarks on an exciting 3-day road show, bringing the vibrant South African spirit to the country’s top destinations.

Some of the planned include Mbabane, Ezulwini, Manzini, Ngwenya Glass, and Hawane Resort. The ‘road show’ will be in full swing during the Bushfire Festival over the weekend, gifting Eswatini with a colourful culture, sights and sounds.
Ethekwini Municipality representative Winile Mntungwa confirmed at the Lavumisa Border gate on the day prior to the Bushfire Festival. This was during a welcoming ceremony for Tourism South Africa.

“The multi-city road show would indeed take place across Eswatini,” she said.
The event was attended by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eswatini Tourism Authority, Vusi Dlamini, who joined in celebrating the arrival of Tourism South Africa. The spirit of hospitality and collaboration was palpable as the guests looked forward to the festivities ahead.

Mntungwa outlined that the objective of the Durban-Kwazulu Natal road show was to promote the destination to both Eswatini citizens and Bushfire Festival attendees.

She emphasized that their campaign was designed to encourage individuals to explore Durban and all it has to offer. Mntungwa noted that the promotion was crucial in encouraging visitors to enjoy all the city has to offer and to take advantage of the unique experiences available in the region
She went on to explain that the collaboration between Eswatini Tourism and Ethekwini Municipality was crucial in promoting both destinations within the broader context of the East African region.

She stressed that with the direct flight connecting Durban and Eswatini, the opportunity exists for increased passenger traffic and a joint promotion of the area to international markets.
Emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation, she noted that their joint efforts with Eswatini Tourism not only worked to promote the destination as a whole but also to increase flight traffic and present a united front to international markets.

She also highlighted that the road show would feature their richshaw bus, which acts as a mobile billboard to further promote their collaboration with Eswatini. According to Mntungwa, this initiative aims to strengthen the existing relationship between the two countries and pave the way for future partnerships.
