TUCOSWA APOLOGISES FOR MAY DAY MAYHEM

MBABANE – The Trade Union Congress of Swaziland (TUCOSWA) apologises profusely for the mayhem that took place yesterday during the celebrations of the Workers’ Day, which took place at Prince of Wales Sports Ground in Mbabane.

The TUCOSWA General Council says it regrets some of the unfortunate incidences that unfolded during the Workers’ Day.

In its statement, the workers’ federation states that as a way forward, it would be committed to meet all stakeholders, including Government, to engage for the delivery of a free and incident-free activities in the future.

“The federation re-affirms its long standing position and belief on collective bargaining and social dialogue as a means to resolve any workplace and societal challenge and in that regard, it believes that healthy engagements with all necessary stakeholders remain key for the existence of trade unions,” read the statement, in part.

The Federation further undertakes to attend to the issues affecting its affiliates, which resulted in some disruptions during the Workers’ Day.
