MBABANE– European Union in Eswatini (EU) and (United Nations Children’s Fund) UNICEF yesterday launched the ‘Back to School’ project.
This initiative is specifically for children living with disabilities who will undergo a two-year training course of their choice at Ekululameni Training Centre, based at St Joseph’s Mission in Manzini.
The courses include carpentry, home economics, dressmaking, jewellery making and leather work.
It is worth noting that significant parts of the training centre have undergone some major refurbishment since COVID-19 and damage caused by storms.
Microprojects has also promised to start working on repairing the boys’ hostel next week as the girls’ hostel repairs have been completed.
“We are greatly looking forward to seeing how the students will flourish in their new environment. “Through this opportunity, they will also be empowered to make their voices heard, have the courage and tools to participate in social and economic life and allow them to reach their full potential,” said European Union Ambassador Her Excellency Dessislava Choumelova.
