MANZINI – Farewell.

Jeanne Marie Maloney, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of Minister-Counselor, who was sworn in as United States of America (USA) Ambassador to the Kingdom of Eswatini on December 9, 2020, has resigned from her position.

Everyone in the country took time to bid farewell to Ambassador Jeanne Maloney who will be departing Eswatini and retiring at the end of the month. After two years of dedicated service as Head of Mission at the U.S. Embassy.

When speaking about her departure Maloney said, she will greatly miss Eswatini.

“When I leave this beautiful country, I will take with me a wealth of fond memories. I have most enjoyed meeting and engaging with the people of this country.

“Joining the women in dance, watching the children perform songs and poetry, seeing first-hand the lives that have been improved though our HIV/AIDS response partnerships, meeting future leaders who participated in various State Department exchange programs, and seeing the impact of AGOA trade facilitation on small and women-owned businesses in Eswatini,” she said.

“Even after my departure, the U.S. Embassy will continue to advocate for democratic values, including good governance, inclusivity, rule of law, accountability, respect for human rights, and freedom of expression,” she said.
