MBABANE – Renowned Sugar Production Company Ubombo Sugar sent 100 members of the Lutsango regiment to participate in the Buganu Ceremony in Hlane Royal Residence.
Ubombo Sugar is one of the well-known sugar production companies situated in Big Bend, where it also operates its a sugar mill. It is different from Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation, which has sugar mills in Simunye and Mhlume.
Ubombo Sugar Communications Officer Winile Masinga said they were sent by their authorities in their company to be part of the ceremony. Speaking to Eswatini TV on Saturday at Hlane Royal Residence, Masinga said the company was also part of Eswatini society and the authorities saw it fit that the Lutsango should also form part of the participants at the event.
The sugar production company was part of the organisations that delivered gifts to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi in Hlane Royal Residence. Ubombo Sugar is one of the companies that take education very serious in the country.
Masinga said her company understood the importance of education, as a tool that moulded children to become productive citizens in the future. That was the reason why the company operated three schools, which are also situated in Big Bend.
The schools include Ubombo Pre School, Ubombo Primary School, Sisekelo High School, and U-Tech High School, which the company runs collaboratively with Eswatini Government. Masinga said the results of the schools showed that they always wanted to be the best in the education sector.
Masinga also mentioned that Ubombo Sugar did not only participate in Buganu Ceremony. The company also partipated in Ingwenyama Cup Culture Competition last week in Siteki. Masinga said even though they did not have Imbali in their company, they ensured participation in Umhlanga Ceremony. She said as workers of the company, they sent their daughters to be part of the event.
