MBABANE– Eswatini DJ, founder and managing director of Platinum concepts Uncle Karly is set to celebrate ten years of his inception and growth.
Uncle Karly, real name Khulekani Baphelele Mamba, is a celebrated household name within the entertainment circles having been in the industry for two decades.
During an interview with this reporter, Mamba revealed that he plans to share his journey with emaSwati this Thursday at Endibanweni.
“On Thursday, February 23, 2023 I will facilitate a session with emaSwati who are interested in what it takes to make it in the entertainment space.
“The event is free for all attend and no registration is required. The session will begin at noon at Endibanweni. Here we will celebrate Platinum Concepts which I founded and is responsible for marketing events, concept development, sound, stage and lighting, and more,” said Mamba.
Mamba mentioned that people must be on the look-out for opportunities and take them on.
“What started off as just a passion has grown to be an empire that has been instrumental in facilitating the realisation of dreams for many.
“I have learned that being in the entertainment will always bring an opportunity to improve service, be it sound or stage lighting. One needs to be on the lookout for these gaps and take an opportunity to improve them. These are the kind of talks we will be discussing on Thursday,” said Mamba.
The artist further mentioned that he started small and that team work helped him realise his dream.
“I landed a lead role in facilitating entertainment and general management at the then-popular Tinkers, where I teamed up with friends to see the birth of entertainment stable, Big Fun. “After having realised the need to establish my own brand that will appeal to the corporate space, I established Platinum Concepts, a company now renowned for excellence in service delivery with a notable record of identifying, nurturing and celebrating a multitude of local entertainers to date,” said Mamba.
