MBABANE– The country’s respected DJ and stable owner ‘Uncle Karly’ has chosen to celebrate his birthday this year in style.
Professionally known as Khulekani ‘Uncle Karly’ Mamba, he took to his social media and announced the ‘Uncle Karly’s Denim and White B Day Fiesta’ is to be held at The George Hotel on April 23, 2023.
When quizzed about the concept, the Platinum Concept Director said he cannot wait to celebrate another year of life and he will do this through the next ‘Afternoon Hangout Experience’.
“Yes, I will be celebrating another year of life at next month’s edition of the Afternoon Hangout Experience scheduled for The George Hotel Gardens, and we appreciate The George Hotel for allowing us to host at their remarkable venue. In an effort to enhance the experience for patrons, The George Hotel has agreed to significantly cut prices on beverages for early arrivals,” he said.
When elaborating, Mamba said this meant people will enjoy bottle store discounted prices from the time gates open, through to 4pm in the afternoon
“We encourage patrons to take advantage of this offer, arrive early and bring their empty cooler boxes so they can stock up to enjoy as the evening progresses,” he said.
Fun lovers in the country know Uncle Karly as a good classic DJ but he is also a master at putting together a lineup. With this upcoming event, he mentioned that, he was yet to announce the list of talented musicians to grace the stage, and that he was definitely excited about them.
Uncle Karly has over the years become one of Eswatini ’s celebrated household names in the entertainment circles. His ability to fuse expertise and experience in his approach has rendered him distinctive in presenting his toil and has somehow managed to aid him to strike a balance in both matured and youthful entertainment by widening his music scope, thereby bridging the gap presented by age and preference in entertainment.
He was introduced to the entertainment scene in 2006, drawing inspiration from the then Southern African Sprite DJ Champion, DJ Wicked Hands, whose talent and passion fused with a high level of professionalism was impossible to ignore. It was not long before he started collecting music and mastering his craft while getting exposed to the masses.
Through his excellence, he landed a spot as the resident DJ at the then-popular Tinkers Sports, Entertainment and Cocktail Bar, where he eventually teamed up with a couple of friends to see the birth of entertainment stable, Big Fun and later establishing Platinum Concepts, renowned for identifying, nurturing and celebrating a multitude of local entertainers to date.
Since then, there has been no stopping for him as he has been instrumental in facilitating and headlining a multitude of events that have featured a host of local and international stars.
