MBABANE– Eswatini-born DJ and global influencer Uncle Waffles born Lungelihle Zwane has become a tangible representation of a dream realized.

This was evident last night where she was performing in the country for the second time in the Kingdom.

Zwane was headlining the first edition of Pop Sunday 2023. Fresh from being sampled by Beyonce and performing for stars like P. Diddy at the MET Gala, the superstar took to the stage with ease.

Clad in a black corset, a Scottish mini skirt accessorized with small bag pockets Zwane was greeted with a warm welcome from over 300 fun lovers that packed the venue.

The crowd which comprised of the youth, was visibly happy to see the young Waffles on stage.

“We are just happy to see Waffles here, she has made us believe that attaining success and coming back home is possible. She has motivated us,” said Tema Vilane who attended the event.

Simile Dlamini said they were grateful to Uncle Waffles for flying the Eswatini flag high and being able to come back home.

“She has shown us that it is possible to dream and dare the system. Seeing her here today is the stamp I needed for my dreams. They are valid,” said Dlamini.

Worth noting is that the 23 -year-old has taken emaSwati’s brand and social status to new heights through this achievement.

She shared her excitement and gratitude for performing in the country. She said she was excited by the love she received.

“It indeed was a national Waffles day, I’m happy to have rocked with Eswatini with the dragon’s den,” said the DJ.

Worth noting is that her success has drawn attention to the Swazi art scene, with some industry players commenting on her growth and what it means for the local industry.
