MANZINI – Google has released its ‘year in search’ data which revealed that Uncle Waffles is part of the list of top searched- for people in the year 2022.
This was revealed in a South African news outlet Glamour magazine in their December issue. Google’s year in search is an annual analysis that reveals the top trending lists and spotlights of what the world searches to see, learn and do.
The country’s star born Lungelihle Zwane, Uncle Waffles made the appearance alongside stars like Ricky Rick, Sonia and Matthew Booth and Casper Nyovest among others.
Since going viral in October 2021, the Amapiano DJ has achieved massive success, even releasing her own Extended Play Record (EP) titled ‘Red Dragon’. In her initial viral video she is seen entertaining a crowd with her dance moves to Young Stunna’s hit song ‘Adiwele’ during a set she played at a Zone 6 venue in Soweto.
This year’s results show that Google is a trusted source of information when South Africans are uncertain, sad, or looking for ways to learn more or entertain themselves.
When sharing the news, the ‘Tanzania’ hit maker expressed her gratitude and thanked her fans for the endless support.
In her instagram story which is accessed by over 2 million followers the star said “Everything I have achieved this year, is because of you guys thank you so much for endlessly supporting me,”
Worth noting is that American rapper Jaden Smith topped the list of names entered into Google’s search bar, followed by his father Will Smith whose name appeared next to Uncle Waffles. This made her become number eight on the list.
