Uncle Waffles is looking for dancers closer to home!

Uncle Waffles yesterday put out a notice on her Instagram page that she will have dancer auditions for her ‘We Love Waffles’ music video in South Africa in Johannesburg today.

The auditions will be held at DS Dance Studios at 65-14th Avenue, Northcliff, Johannesburg, in Gauteng. The auditions kick off from 10am to 3pm.

Upon being selected, the rehearsals will be as follows: First week, February 21–23, for four hours. Second week, 26–28 February, for three hours. The dress rehearsal will be held on February 29.

The final off-site rehearsal will be held on March 1. According to the poster, no under 18-year-olds are allowed, and the dress code is all black.

Last month, she auditioned for dancers in London, United Kingdom, for her show dubbed ‘We Love Waffles London’. The auditions were held at Husky Studios, 29A Amelia S (off Walworth Road) in London.

Two weeks ago, Uncle Waffles got the nod for her electrical performance from USA artist Kelly Rowland, who came up to her to give her a warm hug in appreciation of her set at the United Masters Grammy Weekend Concert. Uncle Waffles, alongside Davido and Tokischa, were the headliners of the show. The concert was held at the Hollywood Palladium.

The DJ, who boasts 2.4 million followers on Instagram, was born Lungelihle Zwane, 23 years ago. The Eswatini-born DJ and record producer, based in South Africa, was featured in Rolling Stone magazine in December. The American monthly magazine focuses on music, politics, and popular culture.

According to one of her pages, Waffles has been recognised by Rolling Stones, Forbes, CNN Variety, The New York Times, and Complex UK for her insane accomplishments throughout 2023, spanning from Solace and Asylum Extended Playlist EP releases, Coachella performances, and sold-out shows in New York.

She is noted for her work in the Amapiano genre and dance abilities, with Billboard describing her as the Princess of Amapiano. Waffles debut single, titled Tanzania, reached number one and went platinum in South Africa. She has gained the attention of some of the world’s biggest names, including Canadian rapper Drake. The world got to know about the DJ after Drake shared a photo of her and sent a shout-out to her. He did that twice. He first joined her on Instagram Live and called her a top DJ. Waffles tweeted that she was super excited and screamed for a good 10 minutes.

Last year, she closed Mbabane when she had her show at the Albert Millin Pop Sunday, fresh from performing at the global festival Coachella and touring the US and Europe. She has become a global brand, playing for European soccer stars and touring global stages, killing it on the decks.

Last year some of her achievements include bagging her own Kentucky Fried Burger (KFC), the Waffles Burger, which proved to be in demand as it sold out on the day it was launched in South Africa. She has partnered with Unilever and advertised sanitary pads. She also clinched a Jagemeister deal, among other brands. US star Beyoncé also played her Tanzania song on her recent Renaissance tour.
