MBABANE: Grammy weekend, are you ready?

Uncle Waffles is set to perform at the UnitedMasters Grammy Weekend Concert alongside Davido and Tokischa on February 2, 2024.

The concert will take place at the Hollywood Palladium on the first Friday of February. The UnitedMasters music platform will again kick off the Grammy weekend with the trio of Nigerian-American artist Davido, Dominican rapper Tokischa, and our very own Uncle Waffles.

Born Lungelihle Zwane (23), the Eswatini-born DJ and record producer, based in South Africa, who has 2.3 million followers, made the announcement on Friday on her Instagram story. She wrote, “We are coming back to Grammy Weekend in a gl.” On her official X account, she wrote, “Headlining the official @unitedmasters Grammy weekend concert, God, thank you! Last week, the DJ was looking for UK dancers for her show, which will be on Saturday in London. The show is dubbed We Love Waffles London. Three weeks ago, Waffles was featured in a United States of America (USA) Rolling Stone magazine. The American monthly magazine focuses on music, politics, and popular culture. According to one of her pages last month alone, Waffles has been recognised by Rolling Stones, Forbes, CNN Variety, The New York Times, and Complex UK for her insane accomplishments throughout 2023, spanning from Solace and Asylum Extended Playlist EP releases, Coachella performances, and sold-out shows in New York.

She is noted for her work in the Amapiano genre and dance abilities, with Billboard describing her as the Princess of Amapiano. Last year, she closed Mbabane when she had her show at the Albert Millin Pop Sunday, fresh from performing at the global festival Coachella and touring the US and Europe. She has become a global brand, playing for European soccer stars and touring global stages, killing it on the decks.

Last year, she begged for her own Kentucky Fried Burger (KFC), the Waffles Burger, which proved to be in demand as it sold out on the day it was launched in South Africa. She has partnered with UniLever and advertised sanitary pads. She also clinched a Jagemeister deal, among other brands. US star Beyoncé also played her Tanzania song on her recent Renaissance tour.
