MBABANE-Yesterday, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Eswatini and Eswatini Youth Empowerment Programme hosted a media engagement for finding solutions to youth unemployment.
The engagement allowed UNDP to unpack the magnitude of the youth unemployment challenge by using data to put a face to the unemployed youth to better understand their challenges, needs and priorities.
“In today’s engagement, we hope this will be the beginning of a series of engagements with the media to ‘Promote Development Communication’ as a key tool to call attention to the issue of youth unemployment,” said UNDP Resident Representative, Rose Ssebatindira.
An important feature of UNDP Africa promises a ‘Renewed Strategic Offer’ which is a renewed approach to engage countries not as mere recipients of development assistance but as valued hosts and development agents with inherent strengths and assets that can be strategically leveraged towards shared goals. Ssebatindira also mentioned that if you are of age 35 or younger and hold a Diploma and upwards, you can still apply for the Eswatini Youth Empowerment Programme. The deadline for application is 31 March 2023.
