KWALUSENI – “Ample time to connect, network and form meaningful relationships with peers.”
This is what students can expect at the Student Hike which has been organised by the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Economics Society.
Asked on why they decided to organise the Student Hike, this is what one of the organisers, Samukeliso Hlatshwako, had to say.
“As a Society we understand the overwhelming academic pressure faced by the students. The bunch of tests, assignments, projects and other academic commitments can leave one’s mental health destabilised. Consequently, some students get into depression, stress and anxiety disorder as they don’t have enough stamina to cope with the school pressure. Hence, we are hosting the Student Hike,” responded Hlatshwako.
“The hike will give students some time out to unplug themselves from the crazy school world and spend some quality time with nature to relax, reset and recharge. It will boost their mental health and academic performance,” added Hlatshwako.
He stated that during the hike, students should expect to experience the best ever moments at the beautiful Mountains of Mdzimba loaded with lushly green vegetation, mind-refreshing waterfalls and compelling views.
“Energy snacks, Umlembe bottle water, transport from Kwaluseni campus to the mountains and photoshoot will be provided for only E100. Students will also get ample time to connect, network and form meaningful relationships with their peers,” added Hlatshwako. The UNESWA Economics Society is a pre-proffessional students-run organisation that aims to unlock students’ passion for economics. It helps them realise their career and professional dreams within the economics field by providing academic, social and professional enrichment programmes.
