This was confirmed by UNESWA Registrar Dr Salebona Simelane, who said the ceremony will be held in October this year. Simelane said the university was planning a graduation ceremony that will include even the students who completed their studies from 2020 to this year.

“We are also planning to include those students who ought to have graduated in the last two or three years, who have not gone through that process,” said Simelane.

Worth mentioning is that the last graduation ceremony was held in October 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is expected that about 4 000 students will graduate at this year’s ceremony.

The registrar added that there will be dignitaries from certain sectors of society, including the institution’s Chancellor, His Majesty King Mswati III.

Some of the students who completed their studies in 2021, said they were glad to finally attend the ceremony, much like other students who studied in other local tertiary institutions.

“Although it is two years later, I am happy that I will finally get to wear my graduation gown and walk on the famous red carpet among my former classmates, with my parents in attendance. ,” said the student.

Last year, most graduates were disappointed after the graduation ceremony was postponed. Simelane, through a memo, said the graduation ceremony was being postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, to a date which was to be announced at the time.

The memo further encouraged all invited guests to keep their invitation cards for use on the date to be announced.
