This was revealed during the official launch of MTN Bushfire 2023 held at House on Fire.

On behalf of the United Nations Family, UN Regional Coordinator George Wachira said they recognise the Bushfire Festival as a call to action for everyone to bring their energy and passion for social change, and a celebration of the arts and artistes.

The Ministry of Education and Training was also praised for being part of encouraging and empowering pupils through the European Union(EU) schools festivals.

Wachira went on to say this was why, as the UN Family in Eswatini were excited at the opportunity to bring ‘OUR FIRE’

“As the UN Resident Coordinator, I coordinate the work of 17 UN entities supporting the Kingdom’s national priorities and Agenda 2030 of Sustainable Development Goals.

The fire we bring to the Festival is a reminder that we are halfway through the Global Agenda 2030,” he said.

In addition he said this year marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which was adopted by UN Member States in 1948.

The anniversary is seen as an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of human freedom across the world.
