LOBAMBA – “Public education about the elections essentially begins next week.”

These were the words of Minister of Housing and Urban Development Prince Simelane when speaking about urban government elections to the ministry’s oversight committee at the House of Assembly today.

The minister was confirming that the elections will commence as early as November 2022.

“Let me also note that we have been delayed a bit in releasing the current councillors. We know that they have been recently developing budgets for their respective towns, hence it has been prudent that they do not leave this work impromptu,” said the minister.

He also revealed that following the education of the public about the elections this November, there will be registration which will commence in December.

“All else will follow in due course as announced by the ministry,” said the minister.
