MBABANE– After giving them their flowers and praises, the United States of America (USA) has gifted the Eswatini women they have been honouring.
Deputy Chief of Mission Caitlin Piper during a reception honouring seven Eswatini Women Leaders in celebration of Women History Month held at her residence said, more women in the country are breaking into a male-dominated industry and it was lovely to see.
The seven local women were honoured to lunch with the Embassy and further adorned with messages of warmth and love.
“You represent the heroism of Swati women leaders. As more of you break into male-dominated business leadership circles, or become parliamentarians, or impact traditional leadership structures in Eswatini, future generations will benefit from your courage,” said Piper.
In addition, she said these women were mentors to the next generation.
“We celebrate and admire women who lift other women; we see them as changemakers. We know when girls see women in leadership roles, they are more likely to imagine themselves in these roles and pursue them,” she said.
The honoured women were, Makhosazana Dlamini, Mary Pais Da-Silva, Bethusile Dlamini, Martha Shongwe, Leslee Way, Lungile Mzizi and Duduzile Nhlengethwa.
They were selected for their symbolism of the incredible spirit of strength and courage of all Swati women.
