MBABANE -The United States (US) Embassy in Eswatini is set to host two information sessions for prospective candidates for the Hubert Humprey Fellowship.
According to a statement issued by the US Embassy in Eswatini, the Humphrey Fellowship Program brings accomplished mid-level professionals from around the world to the US for a year of study and professional development.
The Hubert Humphrey Fellowship program, according to the statement, is a nine-month (non-degree) fellowship for mid-high level professionals. Prospective candidates must have an undergraduate degree, a minimum of five years of experience in their field of expertise and demonstrated leadership skills.
As per the fellowship announcement, selection for these prestigious fellowships is highly competitive, with preference given to candidates who possess exceptional academic and professional credentials, as well as a demonstrated commitment to public service.
The fellowships are offered solely in specific fields, namely, public policy and administration, economic development, law and human rights, educational administration, planning and policy, agricultural and rural development, natural resources, environmental policy, climate change, public health policy, and health management.
It is stated that eligible applicants must be Emaswati between the ages of 30 and 50, with a four-year university degree (undergraduate) and a minimum of five years of substantial professional experience. The program seeks to identify individuals who demonstrate leadership potential and excellent communication skills in English.
Emaswati who meet the eligibility criteria for the highly competitive fellowships are encouraged to attend either of the two upcoming information sessions:
- Tuesday on May 14, 2024 at 1pm, when an in-person briefing will be held at Ndibanweni, 2nd floor Mbabane Public Library.
- Wednesday on May 15, 2024 at 5:30pm, when a virtual information session will be conducted via Zoom. Prospective candidates are advised to RSVP for either of the information sessions by emailing MartinsSC@state.gov.
