EZULWINI – Farmers should prepare for a plentiful crop season this summer as the Eswatini Meteorological Services predict normal to above normal levels of rainfall.

The weather projection for the summer was publicised by Director of Eswatini Meteorological Services Dudu Nhlengethwa. Speaking during an interview on Eswatini TV yesterday, Nhlengethwa noted that, “There are very good chances that the amount of rain this year will be what we normally experience and maybe more, and these conditions are expected to last throughout the summer and the country.”

Nhlengethwa added that, “So, as we meet today to present this to the nation, we also have to look back and determine what are the risks that we have to be careful of in such conditions.”

She also added that the Meteorology department is currently working on Common Alert Protocol to strengthen the country’s disaster warning systems to quickly communicate with the public in cases of extreme weather conditions.

The predictions were revealed during a meeting by the country’s meteorologist at Happy Valley in Ezulwini yesterday.
