EZULWINI – Welcome to the Destination
The Destination opened its doors early last year. It was founded by Dumisa Manana. Located at Ezulwini, Mpumalanga Crescent Road, and Thembelisha Street, the establishment offers a lunch and dinner menu with a traditional and cultural taste.
This reflects Manana’s history as the owner of the venue as it keeps his business in touch with his background roots, thus having some of the food on the menu named after his forefathers and elders, for instance, the Lompondo and Gobidholo imicwembe and a pizza named Koko.
Manana, when reached for comment, said, “Our restaurant’s objective is to provide excellent customer service and a memorable dining experience. We also aim to consistently serve high-quality food and beverages at a competitive price to meet customer expectations and give customers value for their money. We aim to develop and maintain a strong brand and reputation.”
The venue also offers accommodation in luxury rooms, which are priced at E300.00 per chalet. Customers are allowed to bring their own treats to the rooms or can order at the venue. The chalets can accommodate up to six people. There are a total of three chalets available for rental per night or day. These rooms are not available for hourly rentals, as most frequently asked by some patrons.
According to the founder, the venue also offers an entertainment hub within the same premises, which allows customers to chill and unwind while enjoying a great ambiance. The venue is now open from Wednesday to Sunday; however, live entertainment is from Thursdays to Sundays.
The venue hosts live DJs and performances, but entertainment is always a guarantee through resident DJs who keep patrons entertained during the day and night through soothing sounds up to a groovy transition.
“We have hosted various events and artists such as Eemoh,Bholoja, Nkunzi from Uzalo, House Cat of Deepsoul Sensation South Africa, Exte C, C-Black, and local DJs Ayacity, Zulu D,Matamza,Tilungu, Ntombs,The Bishops, Katz, Smashsoul,Miss Lwah,Skulboi Q, and ItsAllBlaq, to name a few,” shared Manana.
The establishment is set to host more events this year, with one big one coming soon: the Tipcee Birthday Celebration happening on February 2 with other guests Costa Dollar, who both come from the Durban’s Afrotainment stable.
A Valentine’s Day diner is also scheduled for couples to enjoy a three-course meal over comedy and music for the night, for which one gets to pay E450.00. We have a limited-space special where a couple pays E1000.00 for the meals and also gets a room for the night!!! This offer ends on February 5.
The venue has also hosted companies for their corporate gigs, such as Eswatini Water Services, Eswatini Royal Insurance Authority, Phoenix, and KFC, to name a few. Companies are invited to host events at the venue at a very competitive and valuable price range.
It also offers a lawn area suitable to host events such as weddings, baby showers, picnics, and other types of events suitable for a lawn setup. To host an event, you can contact The Destination Marketing and Entertainment, Kethumenzi “Katz” Manana, on 7820 6743 or email thedestinationsz@gmail.com.
