MBABANE – With Mbabane Swallows already crowned the 2023/ 24 MTN Premier League champions, the focus turn to the relegation battle in the last games of the season.
Swallows were crowned champions after beating Ezulwini United 1-0 on Saturday at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre. They will be presented with the E1.1 million cheque and the trophy in their last match against Young Buffaloes.
The relegation focus will be between relegation threatened Manzini Wanderers and Denver Sundowns who face each other in week 26 of the MTN Premier League. Both teams are at the bottom of the table.
Other teams who are fighting for survival are Manzini Sea Birds who face Illovo and Moneni Pirates who are up against another relegation threatened candidates, Ezulwini United.
Denver Sundowns are at the bottom of the log with 17 points and they have a slim chance of survival while Manzini Wanderers are second from the bottom with 21 and the fate lies with results for Moneni Pirates and Manzini Sea Birds who are both sill not safe from the axe.
Wanderers are from a 6-1 demolition at the hands of Mbabane Highlanders while Moneni Pirates won 3-1 against Illovo and Manzini Sea Birds were held to a 1-all draw against Royal Leopard.
The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) is yet to release the fixtures with venues and dates.
