MBABANE– Though they have the dreaded relegation axe hanging menacingly over their heads, Mbabane Swallows Coach Caleb Ngwenya is adamant that Manzini Wanderers remain a difficult opponent.
Wanderers are just a point away from the two relegation places and are coming from an embarrassing 5-0 defeat at the hands of their cross city rivals Denver Sundowns. On the other hand, ‘The Birds’ as Swallows are fondly called are in a rich vein of form and have lost one match, against Tambuti since Ngwenya took over from co-coaches Musa Manyatsi and Siyabonga Bhembe.
“Our preparations for this game are top notch as we usually do. Wanderers’ bad form does not mean anything to us. We are concentrating on this game without even looking at their position on the log because it remains a difficult game. Football is an unpredictable sport and we are ready for this crunch match,” he said in his pre-match press conference at Sigwaca House on Friday.
Ngwenya is also relishing the selection headache in midfield, describing it as ‘an interesting headache’. The MTN Premier League title winning coach win Green Mamba is spoilt for choice in midfield with stars like Colani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze, Banele ‘Pupu’ Sikhondze, Leon Manyisa, Tony Tsabedze, Nhlanhla Ngwenya and Mohammed Kabia among others.
With Mbabane Highlanders welcoming log leaders Green Mamba in the later game in the Super Sunday MTN Premier League double header dose at Mavuso Sports Centre, Ngwenya said his team has no influence in the outcome of that game and that only 90 minutes will determine the result of that titanic clash. Both sides are mathematically in the title race.
