LOBAMBA – Mbabane Swallows defender Siphosethu Mabilisa, who is debuting in the National team, Sihlangu, said he already felt at home.
He said he got a warm welcome from the senior players and the technical bench headed by Dominic Kunene. Mabilisa, who inspired his team, Mbabane Swallows, to win the MTN Premier League, is among the 26 players that were called up by Coach Dominic Kunene.
“It is inspiring to play for the national team. During the season, I never thought I would receive the call up. I am grateful the have receive the opportunity and it had inspired me to work harder. I think I perform well for my team especially towards the end of the season,” he said.
Mabilisa said the senior players welcomed them well and they were now settled and feeling like they are at home.
Mabilisa added that there was little that they knew about football in Angola and Mauritius, but they were going to be all out to get positive results. Sihlangu plays Angola on June 7 and Mauritius four days later in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
“We do research about them because it is important to know your opponents. I believe we will do better and get the desired results,” he said.
