MBABANE- The United States of America (USA) has introduced their new Head of Mission who took office in January 2023.
The news was announced on their social media platforms, where the Embassy announced they were pleased to introduce Earl Miller. The latter has joined the US Embassy in Eswatini as the incoming Chargé d’Affaires.
He will head the U.S. Embassy as Chargé d’Affaires until a new Ambassador is appointed. Incoming Chargé d’Affaires Earl Miller is a retired career member of the US Senior Foreign Service, and served as US Ambassador to Bangladesh from 2018 to 2022.
He served as US Ambassador to Botswana and US Representative to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) from 2014 to 2018 and Consul General in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2011 to 2014.
He has also served at US Embassies in El Salvador, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq, and India. Miller is also a graduate of the University of Michigan and a former US Marine Corps officer. In addition, he is the recipient of the Department of State’s Distinguished Service Award and Award for Heroism and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Shield of Bravery.
As soon as the US Embassy announced the news locals took to the comments and congratulated Miller.
“We are pleased to introduce our new Head of Mission, Earl R. Miller, who has joined the U.S. Embassy in Eswatini as the incoming Chargé d’Affaires,” read the initial post by the Embassy, and in return people whished Miller well.
One user said, “You could have not come at a better time to help settle the dust in the country. Congratulations on your position we look forward to working with you,”.
Another user said, “Our lives matter, and thank you for committing yourself to this position, all the best sir,”.
