MBABANE-The Easter holidays are upon us, a time to celebrate the life, death, sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ for all mankind.
This reporter conducted interviews with artists to establish what Easter means to them and how they plan on celebrating the special holidays.
Musician Nana Magagula
Well besides being a musician I am also a painter. I will be working on my finishing my creations which are commissioned work.
Poet -S’bulelo Jele
Easters are like Christmas to me. It is a time to reconnect with family and take time out to create new poetry without any distractions from work. It is also a time to rejuvenate and prepare for the months ahead.
MC- Nonjabuliso ‘Figurebelt’ Zwane
I will definitely be at church. I am even trying to have a solo performance at church shem. My Inkonzo (Zion Church wear) is ready.
Event Organiser- Larry Mhlanga
I will be working as always. As an organiser holidays are sometimes the best time to have events because people are not worried about going to work the next day and are looking for chilled, fun events to go to.
Taxi Driver- Sibusiso Mkhwanazi
I go to church without fail and I will be at church for Easters for all night prayers and work during the day. I am a Zionist and I love Easter services because of the powerful energy everyone brings during worship. The church is always at maximum capacity which is good because the Bible says “If two or more people gather, God will be amongst them”.
Photographer- Lucky B
I have been asked to cover the Easter celebrations at Church so I will be working and still worshipping at the same time. It is the best of both worlds for me.
