WHO DONATES E4.7 MILLION DIGITAL EQUIPMENT AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES

MBABANE – The Ministry of Health has received donations to worth E4.7 Million from the World Health Organisation. Minister of Health Lizzie Nkosi received the digital working equipment, visibility material and medical supplies on behalf of the Ministry on Tuesday. The equipment includes laptops, desktops, gazebos and medicine, according to an official statement from Government’s official twitter page.

Receiving the equipment, Minister Nkosi expressed that “It is our frontline workers, in particular, who have assumed the crucial role of ensuring the safety of our communities and citizens. We are therefore extremely grateful for this donation, which will facilitate ease when providing service to the people.”

WHO Country Rep Dr Cornelia Atsyor echoed the Minister’s words and said that, “These items are to support the country not only in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, but also in building capacity for preparedness in handling other epidemics and medical emergencies and also ensuring essential health services are protected during such emergencies. I sincerely hope that the equipment, consumables and medical supplies will be utilised effectively and contribute towards improving the health of emaSwati.”
