MBABANE – E3000 in cash and invaluable knowledge is up for grabs!

For the first time ever, Eswatini Coding School is hosting a Literacy Day celebration event at the Prince of Wales on November 3, 2022. The event, which celebrates and promotes literacy, is powered by InstaCash.

Speaking to Eswatini Positive News about the event, Eswatini Coding School founder and Managing Director Celumusa Thusi explained that Literacy Day is celebrated across the world, and Eswatini Coding School felt motivated to celebrate it in Eswatini as well.

“We decided to host this event because most of the time, information skips the youth. If it is not shared on Facebook, they will never know about it. Young people behave as if it does not exist if it is not on Facebook,” said Thusi, expanding on the motivation behind the event.

“It is an information day where there will be sharing of computer literacy, media literacy, financial literacy and business literacy. We will be running a number of competitions and we will be having a number of organisations where young people can get more informed about specific areas of knowledge,” said Thusi.

He added that there will be tertiary institutions at the event, businesses, as well as Non-Profit Organisations like Kwakha Indvodza and the Swaziland Women’s Action Group Against Abuse (SWAGAA), among others.

Leading up to Literacy Day, Eswatini Coding School has already awarded E1 000 to two of their Facebook page followers, in a computer literacy competition.

Expanding on the competitions which will be held during the Literacy Day celebration event, Thusi said that there will be two types of competitions on the day, some on Media Literacy where a E2 000 cash prize is up for grabs, as well as some on Computer Literacy, where E1 000 is to be won.

The Eswatini Coding School is an array of products including literacy programmes and coding clubs that are aimed to benefit the youth of the Kingdom of Eswatini.
