MBABANE – The Woman Farmer Foundation (WFF) is going beyond the “Empowerment of Woman and Female Youth Farmers through Climate Smart Agriculture” in empowering women.
On August 30, 2023, the WFF will host a Women’s Rights and Equity Seminar. According to WFF Managing Director, Sonia Paiva, the Women’s Rights and Equity Seminar will be hosted in conjunction with Crossroads Canada (CI)) under the Karen Takacs Women’s Leadership Fund.Crossroads International is a Canadian volunteer cooperation agency advancing equality for women and girls and eradicating poverty in some of the world’s poorest countries in Africa.
The WFF Managing Director added that the seminar is being hosted as part of the project: Upscaling Adult Women and Female Youth Farmer’s Agribusiness Development Skills Project, which tackles the root cause of gender inequality which is unequal control of resources and decision making.
“The seminar aims to mainstream gender and power dynamics to address land rights and gender-based violence for 15 women and 15 female youth farmers,” said Paiva.
The seminar will be hosted from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the S&B Restaurant in Matsapha.
