MBABANE – The call for submissions for the Women Farmer of the Year 2024 competition has been announced, with a grand prize of E100 000.
The competition is open to women farmers from across the country, and will be judged on a variety of criteria. The competition is aimed at promoting women in agriculture and recognising their contributions to the sector.
It is stated that the competition is open to two categories of entrants, including youth and adults. The youth category is open to individuals aged between 18 and 35 years old, while the adult category is open to individuals aged 35 years or older. The competition organisers are seeking to recognise the achievements of women farmers of all ages and levels of experience. Eligible participants are encouraged to submit their entries for consideration.
The competition organisers announced that participants must be active farmers for at least one year, and must operate on Swazi Nation Land. The application forms can be obtained from Khuba Traders in Matsapha and Manzini, Farm Chemicals in Malkerns, the Ministry of Agricultural Crop Promotion, and online.
