MBABANE-The Mic’d Emotions will be hosting a masterclass on Stage and Page Poetry, reflecting on March as Women’s History Month.
This masterclass will be hosted under ‘Loba Amplified’, one of the segments of The Mic’d Emotions where most literary and poetic works are showcased to spark a discussion on such artwork.
This is a free event slated for March 25, 2023, from 1 to 3 pm at the Mbabane Library, The American Corner.
Mic’d Emotions spokesperson Nomachawe Sibiya said that in line with celebrating Women’s History Month, they were also celebrating the women in their team.
“We are happy to also celebrate the Mic’d Emotions team which is predominantly made up of inspiring young women who are excellent leaders and change agents in their communities,” said Sibiya.
Sibiya also mentioned that the sessions would be facilitated by a renowned poetess.
“This session of the workshop will be facilitated by the renowned poetess ‘Black Note’ who is also an incredibly talented author, and phenomenal woman who uses her artistry to create positive change and empower various groups, especially youth,” said Sibiya.
The spokesperson further stated that those who would attend the workshop were in for a treat.
“We promise that those who will attend the workshop are in for a treat. The workshop is for anyone interested in pursuing poetry, currently in the poetry space, or anyone desiring to learn more about poetry and how this art can be used to stimulate the creative economy,” said the spokesperson.
Sibiya further stated that they partnered with the U.S. Embassy to make this event possible.
“We are excited to have partnered with the U.S. Embassy, which has contributed significantly to driving this event.
“We have a special American representative who will be present in the workshop so all creatives coming to the event can stay expectant for an exhilarating learning and collaborative experience,” said Sibiya.
