Another community has been assisted, yet again, by World Vision Eswatini as the organisation took to the Sibovu Community to give them an opportunity to access clean water through the Mahlangatsha Area Programme. The development was initiated last year and the new water tank was installed in January, 2022.

This was announced in a statement from World Vision Eswatini’s official social media platform (Facebook) released today.

World Vision Eswatini replaced an old 6000 litres water tank which had been installed in the early 1970s and was eroded, making the water dirty and unsafe, with a new 120 000 litres water tank. This initiative has assisted 83 households, two schools, clinics and a few shops in the area as the residents are now able to access clean water to use in their households.

Mathambo Xaba, a member of the committee who was facilitating this project expressed gratitude to World Vision Eswatini and excitement, stating that the community members also worked hard to support the initiation and completion of this project.

“We came in our numbers to work alongside the company that was installing the tank. We are very excited to see this development come into being and fulfilling our dream and we wish for others communities to get clean water as well.

“We are really grateful to World Vision for being faithful to the promise. In this community, we never thought that one day, we will own such a big tank,” said Xaba, as quoted in a statement by World Vision Eswatini on their Facebook page.

According to World Vision Eswatini, the residents of the area have revealed how they want sustain themselves and develop their community through the new water tank.

World Vision Eswatini has proven to be robust in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects as yesterday we reported that the organisation funded another water project at Siphungweni community.
