MBABANE – Over the past two weeks, World Vision Eswatini has been mobilising a CANGO-funded food distribution project in 14 constituencies in the country.
The project, “General Food Distribution For People With Disabilities”, is implemented by the organisation through its “Halting The Spread of HIV in the Swazi Society” under Humanitarian Emergency Affairs.
This was revealed by World Vision Eswatini on their multiple social media pages where they mentioned that, It is set to benefit 550 disabled Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM) aged between 10-24 years.
“These food hampers include two green bar soaps, 15kg rice, 2l cooking oil, 5kg sugar beans and 3kg sugar. These will be received monthly for the next 10 months,” read the posted statement.
A beneficiary from Hhukwini Inkhundla pointed out that this is a sign that their children are also not forgotten.
“We really are grateful. Finally, our children are remembered and considered as a part of this society. It is heartwarming because taking care of a disabled child is not easy”, she said.
World Vision is committed to empowering children and adults with disabilities to fully participate in their communities and ensures that boys, girls, men, and women with a disability achieve the same outcome as others.
This comes shortly after the World Vision group has dedicated funds and time to WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY 2023.
“We are committed to making a positive and lasting difference in the world, and driven by our desire to serve God, we are improving and transforming the lives of children, their families, and their communities,” reads the statement from World Vision.
