The founder and Director of the SWAZI FEST WRITER’s AWARDS, Clement Thando Dlamini, has confirmed the date for the second edition of Writer’s Awards which will be on the 26th of November 2022 at Bethel Court Hotel, Ezulwini. The awards started last year 26 November 2021 and it was attended by cooperate personalities like Dr Oliver Museka, successful influencers, authors, aspiring writers and the public at large. For example, Gciniwe Fakudze who is an award-winning Executive and Nathi Gule, Marketing Consultant to name a few delivered a speech at the ceremony. Siphesihle Nkwanyana, News Anchor at Eswatini TV will be one of the guest speakers this year.
According to Dlamini, this event is annual and writers will get a chance to be recognized and celebrated in the country. Their mission is to appreciate, acknowledge and honour authors in both official languages, with the hope that it will motivate them to keep doing the impressive job of positively impacting people’s lives and changing societies through words. ‘The aim is not to only create a platform for socializing and celebrating writing, we also want to initiate the spirit or culture of reading within natives with core belief that educated nation is likely to progress on distinguishable prospects’ said Dlamini.
The theme of this year writer’s awards is, ‘Celebrating Excellence in Writing’ and each winner in each category will be awarded with a trophy, certificate, money not more than E1000 and a free trip to Mozambique. To attend, you have to buy a ticket which cost E200 each.
