MBABANE – The Mandela Washington Fellowship will bring up to 700 young leaders to the United States in the summer of 2024 for a comprehensive executive-style program that is designed to build skills and empower Fellows to lead in their respective sectors and communities.
This was announced by the United States of America (USA) Embassy.
“Attention young African leaders, the YALI 2024 application will open on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. You may apply to one of 3 tracks: Business, Civic Engagement, or Public Management. View eligibility info and the timeline: https://www.mandelawashingtonfellowship.org/apply/ U.S. Department of State, Exchange Programs – U.S. Department of State,” read the announcement on the Embassy’s page.
Meanwhile an alumni said the programme had been good for her and her career.
“The Fellowship has been a life-changing experience for me. As a result of the Fellowship, I have built very strong networks with Africans and Americans. I have renewed confidence and determination to contribute to my community,” said the alumni.
Worth mentioning is that, applicants will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, colour, gender, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship is open to young African leaders who are between the ages of 25 and 35 on or before the application deadline, although exceptional applicants ages 21-24 will be considered.
