GILGAL – The Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund (YERF) is hoping to award more funds to young entrepreneurs in the upcoming funding cycle. To increase the quality of applications, the YERF has trained the youth from the Lubombo region on how to best fill out the application form.
The training happened yesterday at Gilgal.
Speaking to the media on behalf of the YERF, Sibusiso Dlamini revealed that, “We came to speak with the youth, get into their shoes, and look at all the requirements with them.” He explained that as the YERF, they wanted to make sure that the youth understand why each section of the application is important for evaluating each applicant’s proposal. He said that they were doing this because some applicants seemed to not grasp the importance of each section such that they would not fulfil the requirements to get capital from the YERF.
The excersize by YERF seemed to resonate very well with the youth. One training participant Vikimphi Gadlela admitted that, “I was able to get some answers I’ve been wanting. We keep hearing that you can apply there but you’re not going to get the money. Today we were able to actually understand why some applications get turned down.”
Present during the training were participants from Dvokodvweni, Gilgal, Lomahasha, and Mhlume.
The training workshops in the Lubombo region will continue until Friday the 24th. They’ll be visiting Lavumisa, Mpolonjeni, and Mhlume.
