MBABANE– Indigenous Band, Bantu the Tribe, has curated a show titled ‘Imvelo’ where they will be teaching emaSwati about the importance of taking care of the environment.
The event will be held at the Alliance Francaise in Mbabane this Friday at 6.30 pm.
When reached for comment regarding the show, band member, Nkosingphile Sibanda, said they had stories they wanted to share with emaSwati which are focused on nature and other issues in society.
“The show is titled ‘Imvelo’ and will feature Botswana artist, Khabo Leburu. We aim to address important societal issues including abuse on children, planting trees and growing your own food,” said Sibanda.
The artist said they would be encouraging people to remember the old times where people grew their own food, sustained themselves, lived in harmony and peace with one another.
“We will be performing our stories in song form and we will also be teaming up different performing artists.
“We have artists on board including Silent Voices, who do story telling through photography. Contemporary dancers Lukhanye will be doing theatre and contemporary dance depicting what we will be talking about through dance. We will also have fine artist Honest Mhlanga who will be doing art on the day,” said Sibanda.
