MBABANE – Bawss Foundation has joined forces with Instacash, e-Bet, Mbabane Superspar, and the Times of Eswatini to address period poverty among underprivileged girls through a sanitary pads donation drive, yesterday at Mbabane Superspar.
Founder of Bawss Foundation Anele Shabangu emphasized the importance of ensuring every girl has access to menstrual hygiene products and can attend school without interruption.
“Period poverty is real. It is sad to see girls missing school because they cannot afford a pack of pads. As a foundation, we have made it our mission to try and keep these girls in school while managing their periods.” said Shabangu in the report of Times of Eswatini.
Cheeks Mnguni Nxumalo, Managing Director of Instacash, expressed the company’s privilege in being part of this initiative.
“The girl child is close to our hearts. I am happy that we are here today, and I wish we could see this initiative replicated in different places.” Nxumalo stated.
