MBABANE- A sentimental message!

Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati LaNgangaza emphasised on the essence of healing at this year’s World Hospice and Palliative Care celebration which was held at Eswatini Hospice at Home last Saturday.

The day is celebrated on the second Saturday of October each year.

Inkhosikati LaNgangaza is a patron of Eswatini Hospice at Home.

“The theme ‘Healing Hearts and Communities’ aims to communicate that healing is essential as millions of families and caregivers lost their family members and friends while experiencing isolation.

“It is challenging to us to appreciate that even though we might be devastated, we are, however, trusted to be our brother’s keeper,” she said.

Inkhosikati LaNgangaza also said the theme was challenging them to unite and raise their voices, to advocate for palliative care policies and programmes that support the need of patients and their families who would immensely contribute to their quality of life and mental wellbeing.

“Our wish today is that today’s event activates more passion, awareness and participation to care and listen to members of community who are going through the heartbroken process- the sick and their caregivers.

“We are also hopeful that this day will attract more partners and donours to support our mandate,” she said.

Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati LaNgangaza also said the current crisis (COVID-19 pandemic) was stifling their operations because food and other amenities were key yet other global challenges were exerting financial stress on their partners and donors.
