HIS MAJESTY KING MSWATI III OFFICIALLY INAUGURATES SIBEBE KELLOGG TOLARAM FACTORY

MATSAPHA – His Majesty the King officially inaugurated the Sibebe Kellogg Tolaram factory in Matsapha today. The event was also graced by The Right Honourable Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers, Government dignitaries, diplomats and members of the business community.

Speaking during the event, His Majesty the King praised the Kellogg Tolaram team who made this project a success, despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. “I would like to applaud the commitments of our Kellogg Tolaram team as well as the team on the ground for ensuring that this project takes . Indeed we are here today as a result of the cooperation of these two parties – we are indeed very grateful for your work,” said His Majesty King Mswati III.

The factory was incepted in 2019 when Kellog’s Tolaram entered into a partnership with the Eswatini government to manufacture food products for the local and foreign markets.

“The country will always continue to engage on the mobilization of foreign direct investment, hence we are excited when companies such as Kellogg Tolaram are providing job opportunities for our people. Since economies aroind the globe have been impacted negatively by the Covid-19 pandemic and other economic shocks, the Kingdom is pursuing the implementation of the economic recovery plan (ERP).
This plan has three priority areas which are to grow the country’s GDP through changes in in the macro-economic conditions; create jobs by increasing productive economic activities and lastly, to fast-track government revenue mobilization by improving the fiscal space which will provide resources to implement our national development plan.
The nation will be pleased to know that the company is at infancy stage. Expansion plans are to add more lines in the near future which will proportionately increase employment opportunities for Emaswati. Furthermore, additional land has been reserved for future expansion into other product lines for cereals; which Kellog’s brand is synonymous with,” remarked His Majesty King Mswati III.

“In my thinking, I looked and thought hard that in our Kingdom we do have a special rock. This rock is indeed world-record breaking in its strength and it must examplify and bring its spirit to the Kellogg family. The name that I thought to give to this factory is the name of our huge rock, Sibebe. I take this opportunity to announce that Sibebe Kellogg Tolaram factory is officially open under my hand today. I thank you, may the mighty God bless us all,” concluded His Majesty King Mswati III.
