MANKAYANE – His Majesty King Mswati III wants to put his people first in his leadership.

The King made it clear today during his birthday celebrations at Mankayane Sports Ground today that he would continue to live by the SiSwati proverb that says: “A king is a king by his people.”
“As a king entrusted to lead Emaswati, I pledge to continue to lead with the best interests of the people at heart and in the footsteps of my predecessors,” said the King.

However, the King said what was also very important was for Emaswati to make a conscious effort to unify around a common goal of developing their lives and believe in their potential to make a difference in their communities.

He believed that with the help of Government and other poverty relief funds, the nation would be able to strive towards becoming a first world country. He said it was important to live by the ‘Nkwe’ philosophy, so that, as a nation, they could achieve their target of an economic growth of five percent.
