MBABANE– Sibongiseni Zondi has gone the extra mile!
The Chevening scholar, who is also one of Government of Eswatini Communications Officers, has landed himself the role of Chevening Social Media Ambassador (SMA).
Chevening is a United Kingdom (UK) educational programme, which also offers students one-year master’s programme and Zondi is currently in the UK.
Zondi is currently pursuing his Master’s in Public Relations and Digital Communications at University of Salford.
Chevening Social Media Ambassadors (SMAs) showcase what it’s like to be a Chevening Scholar by attending events and documenting their experiences of life in the UK.
Zondi is one out of 12 SMAs that were chosen and by that virtue; the above duties will be part of his assignments.
“SMAs show our community what it’s really like to study, travel and live in the UK. They attend and share content from various social and academic Chevening events throughout the year. They also use videos, blogs and social media posts to give us an insight into their day-to-day lives,” read the Chevening website.
Zondi will be advocating for Chevening and telling his journey on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
When reached for comment, Zondi preferred not to make any.
Chevening is the UK government’s international scholarships and fellowships programme.
Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organisations, we offer individuals who show potential to inspire, inform, and influence positive change the opportunity to study at a UK university to gain a UK educational qualification.
Chevening Scholars study subjects in almost any field, and go on to implement their ideas for positive change in a range of sectors. After completing their period of study in the UK, they return home and join our global network of over 50 000 alumni.
Chevening is more than just a year spent in the UK, it’s a community for life.
