MBABANE– More than 8 000 tourists visited Eswatini during the long Easter weekend, according to figures released by Eswatini Tourism Authority (ETA).

According to the report, from Thursday there was a total 7 455 tourists coming in and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday there were 8 000  people coming in through the Ngwenya Border Gate.

Worth noting, Ngwenya Border Gate is the entry point between Eswatini and South Africa. It also made clear that some of these tourists came through the King Mswati III International Airport and through Namaacha or Goba Border Posts that link up Eswatini and Mozambique.

Meanwhile, ETA, Head of Marketing Sboniso Madlopha said synonymously with gatherings with loved ones made fonder by memorable dining that brings you closer together, the Easter holidays were the perfect reason to stay in Eswatini.

He said while some preferred traveling in the country the numbers were quite impressive.

He further urged more people to come through, for next year’s holiday.

“To help you make the best of these holidays while getting to know and fall deeper in love with our beautiful Kingdom, the tourism industry, we had prepared a wide range of enticing Easter special offers on accommodation, dining, and outdoor activities,” he said.

Meanwhile, a group of tourists found at Mountain View, when speaking on their experience said, now was the time to start making bookings and finalising plans to indulge in the myriad of unique, captivating travel options available for the young and the old in the country.

“Create special moments worth treasuring for a lifetime and connect with family and friends all while immersing in the breath-taking beauty of Eswatini,” said Anna Malra who flew in from London.
